Madlib

Today I did and activity with LS1. We got into groups and we needed to put and animal, person's name,unit of time,adjective (not colour), city, adjective (not colour), and a type of clothing, colour.

First, we wrote a farm animal and the animal we picked was a pog.

Next, we wrote a city and the city was auckland.

Then, we wrote down a number between 1-20 and the number we pick was 17.

Then, we wrote an unit time and the unit time was days.

Then, we wrote down two adjectives but not a colour. The two adjectives were ancient and dirty.

After, we wrote down and person's name and it was Jake.

Last, we wrote down a type of clothing and a tyoe of clothing was a shirt.

I enjoyed this activity because I got to make a funny story.





Writting

I completed a can-do that is called Dancing Mat Typing. 

It helps me to type a bit faster and properly

First I did leve 1 for dancing mat typing and did it for 15 minute.

I placed my hands on my keyboard and I wrote the word that were shown on my screen and I had to type it as fast as I could and corectly

Lastly I put my results on mygoogle slide. Then I wrote What I had to practise on more.

I need to practise on foucsing on typing a bit slow.



Basic Facts Boxes | Maths

I completed a speed demon challenge. 

My score was 100/100. My time was 8 minutes and 39 seconds. 

I need to work on my basic fact to 20 because I could of completed it faster nex time i will try up to 100 so I can push myself.

LI: to recall basic facts fluently and quickly.






The Ultimate Book Of Sharks

I read the whole book of The Ultimate Book Of Sharks.

This book is about how sharks how big sharks can grow which is 20 feet, how many species of sharks there are which is over 200 and how shark rarely attack humans in fact you are more likey to killed by a cow then a shark.

I enjoyed this book because I like to read about marine life.

Stratergys

I learnt some more stratergys on how to answer harder question faster.

First I answered a question which was 6x2=12 I used skip counting reapeted addition and rounding & compersating.

Next I answered a question which was 15x3=45 I used skip counting and reapeted addition and place value.

Lastly I answered a question which was 203x5 1015 I used place value and algorithm.

Argument | Writting

I wrote down 5 reasons to back up my argument.

My topic is about animals. My argument is about how we should stop animal poaching. My adience is LS1 and Mr Ogilvie

Next I wrote down my first reason. We should stop animal poaching because the goerment has to send park rangers to protect certin animals from going extincet. But if they were no animal poachers the goverment can focas and spend their money on on other things like schools and hospatils. 

Lastly, I wrote my 2 other reasons one of them were, which were about how irreplaceable animals are going extinct like the giant panda and tigers which are killed for their fur.

I enjoyed this activity because this helped me with my script.









QAR | Reading

Inquiry

I made a whare tapa wha.

First I made a drawing about myself and what I do. There are 4 pillars Taha Tinana, Taha Wairua, Taha Hinengaro, Taha Whanau. I put 3 words in each box.

Next I made slides including Olympic sports. I chose archery.

Finally I wrote down all the things that olympics athletes would do.

I enjoyed This activity because I like to see what I do in my spare time.

Brainstorming | Writing

We learnt about brainstorming and persaive writing.

First we watched 2 videos about Brainstorming and planning. The videos talked about topics you could use to persuade someone.

Then I made a google doc to brainstorm ideas on we had to have 15 diffrent ideas. Then we catorized them into three groups me, school/community and world.  

Lastly we used the traffic light system. The traffic light system is used to rate ideas. Yellow means it's ok Red means it can't be used, and green meaning it's great.

I enjoyed this task becasue I learnt more about Brainstorming.

Basic Facts Boxes | Maths

I completed a subtraction speed demon challenge up to five. 

My score was 100/100. My time was 3 minutes and 32 seconds. 

I need to practice more because my time was slow.

Skip Counting and Repeating Addition | Maths

We learnt how to skip count.

Skip counting is counting up or counting down using the same number. For example sam has seven, 5 doller notes how much money deos he have all together?. 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35. Repeating Numbers is repeating a certain number to get an answer for a problem. For example Mike was at the beach for five days he collected 14 sea shells every day to keep how many shells deos he have in total? 14 +14 +14 +14 +14 =70

This activity was fun because I learnt about Skip Counting and Repeating Numbers.

Reading | QAR

I did a QAR about a text called Change Our School Uniforms.

In the beginning, I did a task called synthesis. It was about three boxes called prior knowledge, new information, and new understandings. Prior knowledge is something you already know and new information is something new that you learnt and new understanding is something you now understand.

Afterwards we did the QAR task. We had to answer the questions and put it into a box. The boxes were: On my own, Think and search, Author and me, and Right there.

Persuading Poster | Writting

We learnt about persuading.

First we watched a video about kid president he said treat people like people in an argument you can sometimes forget you can that your talking to a person and yell at each other.

Second we watched a video explaining how to pursuade someone into agreeing with you. One piece of advice they gave us is listen to the other person because you might be able to persuade them by using there points.

Lasty we made a poster with all the thing that kid president and the video taught us and how agreeing and disagrreing depends on perspective 

I learnt alot of useful thing that I can use when I am in an argument. 

Statistical Investigation

My and I group did a statistical investigation about how many blog posts we have published so far this year.

First we collected the data of on our blog posts. We had to count how many blog posts we had published in each month and added them all together.

Next we analysed the data. Then we made a pie chart and a bar chart out of it.

Lastly we had to write down our data and tell why we have finished more or less blog posts in a certain month.

I learned a lot how to start a statistical investigation.

Inquiry | Oympics

We compared the Oympics to Panmanure Bridge school.

First we finished an activity called this vs that. We had to compare the olympic motto, the creed, the values, and the logo to PBS. 

Next we made a slide deck about the similarities and differences. For example: The Olympic motto and the PBS motto. There both a short sentence or phrase chosen as encapsulating the beliefs or ideals of an individual.

Afterwards we did our own logo and our own motto. My motto was work hard dont give up then you can achieve what ever you can belive.
