Maths | Solving Strategy's

This week for maths we tried to solve equations using different strategy's.

Some strategy' s my group used are splitting numbers, numberline and counting back words.

To split numbers you need to start with the biggest number first example - 40 - 25, and then you count down until you get the answer.

The number line is were you add a number and keep on adding numbers until you get the correct answer.

Counting backwards is were you take away numbers until you find the answer.

L.I To a recount of what we learnt for maths.

Reading | Explain that idiom

Idioms are a group of words that aren't meant to be taken literally. My group completed a task witch was about explaining three different idioms. My group chose call it a day, by the skin of your teeth and in hot water.

First we explained call it a day witch means time to stop then we wrote script and the meaning then we filmed the video.

We repeated the same thing but with by the skin of your teeth, this idiom took the longest amount of time because my group kept on laughing when trying to act the scenes out by the skin of your teeth means barely making it.

The last idiom that my group acted out is in hot water witch means to be in trouble.

I enjoyed this activity.

Today I learnt how to make tangrams. I rearranged the pieces to make animal shapes.

First I made a square piece of paper because tangrams are made from a big square. Then  I folded the square into varies shapes and cut them out.

Lastly, I tried to make different animals shapes from the tangrams pieces.
